慶弔時の金封包みとして、包み袱紗と漆盆替りをつとめる漆台板を
組み合わせた台付きふくさです。
古く、日本では贈り物を進物盆にのせて丁寧にお渡ししていました。
せっかくの贈り物を汚さず、より立派に見せたいという心遣いから、
布で覆い、さらに風呂敷で包む習慣が生まれました。
その所作を簡略化したもの（切手盆とふくさを一緒にしたもの）がこの台付ふくさです。
台は、慶事には朱色面、弔事には裏面と、両面を使い分けられる仕様です。

In earlier times, gifts in Japan were presented on a formal tray,
carefully covered to protect the item and convey respect.
The fukusa evolved as a simplified yet elegant expression of this custom,
embodying the Japanese aesthetic of never presenting a gift “bare.”
The reversible board features a vermilion side for celebratory occasions
and a subdued reverse side for condolence settings.
